With the development of the power electronic technology and continuous improvement of power quality for power equipments, reactive power compensation of power quality is becoming more and more serious. Static Var Generator (SVG) is an efficient way to deal with reactive power dynamic compensation and it has become one of the hot points in power electronics fields. The purpose of this paper is to develop a set of SVG equipment with digital control system.For overcoming the unfavorable influence which is brought by non-ideal electric network voltage when detects the reactive current, this paper puts forward a reactive detection method which is based on coordinate conversion on revolving coordinate system for network voltage and current, to realize the extraction of reactive current, and then improve the detection accuracy. And base on topological structure of SVG for three-phase three-wire system, it puts forward a control method of compensation current which is based on forecasting current strategy to improve the tracking accuracy of dictation current.This paper designs a digital control system based on MATLAB. The control software program is compiled by C language, and the system is emulated by MATLAB software. Set up a set of SVG experimental platform of 2kVar/220V, complete the design and debug of system main circuit and control circuit, and finish the foundational functions of SVG experimental platform. The emulation and test results certify the good reactive compensation performance of the equipment, and indicate the validity.
