On Design Of Test Question System Based On Mobile Agent

At present, the Item Bank used in Author's institute is based on the c/s mode. The main work flow is: input the test subject in the client, click on the search, and the inquired information will be submitted to the topic server. After waiting for a while, the topic server will output the condition topic information to client which conform to the conditions. Then a topic information retrieval is completed. If you need to generate other subject's topics, repeat the above steps. But with the expansion of institute's scale, more and more teachers preserve topic information in their office computers instead of uploading to the central item bank server. So, the traditional C / S mode exposed more and more problems. Such as, it needs to designate the computer information when inquiring topics; client and server must maintain connection; valuable network resources are wasted; network load is not balanced; C / S structure is lack of flexibility.In order to solve the insufficiency of C/S mode, the institute decides to use the mobile agent technology to redesign and develop item bank system. This is a new technology based on the network, communications and distributed systems. Mobile agent is a combination of the agent technique and the distributed computing. It is a program capable of transmitting from a host computer to another independently as well as communicating with other agents. The mobile agent reduces the dependence on the network bandwidth by avoiding to transmit a large amount of transient data on the network when transferring the service request to the server; it needs no uniform scheduling, and the agent created by the user can run asynchronously on different nodes and convey the outcome to the user when the whole task is finished.This paper researches how to use agent technologies for topics data retrieval. As in the process of subject data retrieval, there will appear various types of agent. Some agents stay in the server, some agents will move with the user's need, and some agents will exchange data and information with other agents. So how to coordinate various agents to interact and design each agent to complete their work are focus in this paper.The significance of this paper is not only to achieve the success of a new structure, performance superior online examination system, but also in the design and development of systems used in a number of component technology and methods are highly versatile, and can be flexible continued expansion of the examination system.
