With the development of the economy, the advancement of our society, and the improvement of the automation production management, especially the growing popularity of the network, centralized monitoring system have been widely used in all sectors of our society. Our coal mine safety monitoring system played an active role to improve the situation of production safety in coal mines. But with the promotion and the expanding of the system, the existing system has already exposed its insufficiencies in technical. The original kind of independent equipment can not satisfy the demand of modernized coal mine production now, We need to set up a technological advanced coal mine communication network, for monitoring and controlling the mine's equipment and on-site environmental parameters, also the information management system can form a geographical control and conform to the safe request of coalmine coal mine, which is the development of the coal industry trends.This paper described the definition of field bus technology, technical features and advantages, focused on the CAN field bus technology and industrial Ethernet technology, analyzed of the advantages of CAN field bus technology and industry Ethernet technology and the feasibility of monitoring system applied to coal mine .This paper proposed a new Remote Monitoring System, in which the communication network of equipment adopt Controller Area Network(CAN)Field Bus, and the serial communication network between the monitoring module and remote computer adopts Industry Ethernet . CAN Field Bus entirely realize digital communication and can supervise 110 sets of equipment in real time. It can collect lots of information relevant to running status of the equipment and transmit them to remote computer, which makes for upper maintenance of the equipment. It can carry out giving a alarm timely and fault diagnosis to equipment. At the same time this system can monitor equipment run status and carry it out online. It deeply studied the choosing of the method, the realization of hardware and software, the reliability and anti-jamming characteristic of the whole system. At the software, it also researches and samples modularization and hierarchy programming.Through the analysis of system's operation and performance, the industrial Ethernet and CAN bus technology used in mine monitoring systems can well solve the problems in the coal mine production, minimize the incident encountered in production, and makes it easy to manager equipment maintenance later, and it can bring huge economic benefits for coal enterprises. At the same time the system is a fully open system, and it has a strong transplant space and technology upgrades, it can easily be applied to other areas such as power control, communications and factories.
