With the great development of electric power and electron technology, the associated harmonic becomes potential danger for the safety, stability and economy-operating. The surrounding electric environment is affected greatly. The harmonic is considered a pollution nuisance of electric network, and it blocks the development of electric power and electron technology as well.From the study of the actual problems of the harmonic in electric power system, the article, first, states the aim and meaning of the paper and the current research of the harmonic-eliminating technology both at home and abroad. It analyzes the systematic structure and principles of Parallel Active Power Filter together with its advantages and practicability. The i p ? iqoperation mode based on the theory of reactive power is used to dectect the harmonic current. On the grounds of the establishment of all kinds of schemes, it designs the hardwares and softwares of the parrellel electric power quality-controller, introduces the functions realized by the hardwares, and gives the diagrams and the flowcharts of main process of softwares.The design employs the high speed DSP chip TMS320F2812 which is made by TI as core chip. And it employs high efficiency instruction to compile controlling programs to complete the whole controlling project. The Active Power Filter system can reduce the harm of harmonic which is generated by non-linear load in the power network from the simulated result.
