A general descziption of the development of harmonic elimination technique in power system is given in this paper at first and principle and structure of Active Power Filter are ~q~atiated. After groundwork of deep analysis of theory of instantaneous reactive power detecting methods diversified schemes for high frequency harmonic and reactive anTent is presented and the diagrams of actualization of all types are put forward. Then simulation of signal processing section is implemented by selecting one type in SIMLILINK environment of MATLAB software. It is simulation of detection high frequency hamionic and reactive airrent and impulse response data that applies in digital Active Power Filter is calailated by principle of simulation Besides the signal processing section stmcture and principle of another key part of Active Power FiIter桺WM rectifier is disaissed; model of the nonlinear control system is deduced and constructed in SIMIJLINK environment. Finally experiment device that applies GK-TMS32OC32B exploiter / high-Speed system that adopts high-Speed Digital Signal Processor TMS320C32 which is produced by Texas Instrument Corporation as a CPU is made and two experiment schemes are employed; corresponding hardware and software is given in two kinds of skeleton One is a design of part digital Active Power Filter which has complicated hardware while has simple software another is design of fill digital Active Power Filter which has simple hardware while has complicated software. From simulation and experiment results Active Power Filter can eliminate harmonic and compensate reactive o.liTent eft~ctively. The project is the major subject fond item of Guangdong province and Prospect task for the future is industrialization and practicality job. Active Power Filter has a fine prospect from opinions of power enterprise.
