RFID (Radio Frequency Identification, RFID) is a technology utilizing RF Communications to realize non-contact automatic identification (hereinafter referred to as 'RFID technology'). Working with technologies such as Internet, telecommunications, computer information and so on, RFID technology can realize tracking of objects and information sharing in a global scale. Employment of RFID technology in logistics, manufacturing, public information service industries can greatly enhance the management and operational efficiency and reduce costs. With related technologies continuing to improve and mature, RFID industry will become an emerging high-tech industry and become new points of economic growth.This thesis first gives an introduction of related theoretical ideas of modern logistics information system. It then analyzes the development of international logistics information system and compares its development at domestic with the development abroad. On this basis, the paper briefs the existing logistics acquisition technologies and proposes some ideas on building a modern logistics information system based on RFID technology.Secondly, by defining the goals the system is aimed to achieve, the thesis discusses the unique advantages of the RFID technology in terms of data collection and data transmission and introduces the architecture of RFID-based logistics information system. It also provides definition of function modules of the system. At the same time, it explains core business logics and key technologies of the system.In the final part, the paper takes logistics of meat product and anti-fake technology in the alcohol industry as examples to provide an in-depth analysis of the modern logistics information system which employs RFID technology as its transmission carrier.The paper analyses the characteristics that RFID technology possesses in collection, transmission, analyzing, processing, storage and maintenance of vast amounts of information in modern logistics industry and proposes a RFID-based method for modern logistics information management. Furthermore, it in particular researches RFID technology's role in enhancing efficiency of modern logistics, hoping that the findings will be helpful in promoting the use of RFID technology and lowering operating costs in the logistics industry.
