Research On Application Of Telecommunication Technnology In Logistics System

Logistics and telecommunication are connected with the transmission of information stream which is one of the essential characters in logistics. After hundreds of years'development of them, telecommunication, as a support of logistics technology, has been an absolutely necessary part of logistics technology. In this paper, it is concluded that the evolution and development of logistics is always going with the the development of telecommunication technology. Both of telecommunication and logistics are application subjects. But when two are combined to do research, telecommunication will be a basic subject and the technical and theorial support of logistics. Moreover, all kinds of logistics services, as the special applications in industry, need teleccomunication technology's support.Nowadays, the information technology develops fast, the telecommunication technology also makes rapid progress: mobile communication replaces of fix network communication; soft switch replaces of traditional switch technology; NGN (next generation network) and the convergence of trational voice network wih data network etc, all of these provide a wide platform for developing logistics technology.Many fields in logistics can cooperate with telecommunication technology, some technologies are choosen to cooperate with logistics: fix network, WAN, WLAN, RFID, 3G, and Wi-Fi etc. can be integrated with current logistics system. The integration of teleccomunication with logistics can be found in the whole logistics system: the construction of basic logistics communication infrastructure network, the communication control to logtics system, and the logistics communication terminal.The main research content in the paper is focusing on three parts as follows: Firstly, it is researched that the background and meaning of convergence of logistics and telecommunication. From the history of logiscis and the viewpoint of system subject, the deep meaing of logistics is researched. Regarding logistics as a whole logistics system, the constitution of logistics system is analyzed, especially the hardware parts which relate to telecommunication technology.Secondly, it is studied that several communication techonology can be used in logistics system: Internet, mobile communication, electronic tag and location monitoring.
