Nowadays, All kinds of website have usability problem in different degree, which make not only the user feel unease during browsing but also the owner of the website lose their advantage in competition, therefore it is very important for company to improve the usability of their website. The first step to improve is to find usability problems from existing website, and then we can fix it. At present, one of the best effective ways to find website usability problem is to collect remote user behavior data while they are browsing and then analyze.According to this method ,we do some experimental research on collecting and analyzing user behavior data automatically from client side and design a remote usability testing tools named CUCAT(Client Usability Data Collecting And Analyzing Tool),then implement the tool's prototype. The target is to discovery possible technology project and solve all technical problems in order to get experience for developing a usable tool in the future. Several website are selected to do case study by using this tool while the CUCAT is improved gradually. From the result we can see that a lot of usability problems which may be ignored by other tools can be find by using the tool and at the same time show that we get valuable experience for developing a usable tool in the future. In this paper, the author briefly introduce the conception of usability, main methods of web usability engineering, the necessity of collecting and analyzing web user behavior data and the methods of collecting and analyzing user behavior data at first. Then, we emphasize on introducing CUCAT from two aspects: (1) Analysis, design and application of CUCAT, (2) System applying of test and analyzing are also presented. Finally, the author take a conclusion on the research and make some suggestion to the further study.
