With the development of the Internet and Information technology, we are expecting more from the wireless communication environment. Wireless Mobile Internet came out based on the wireless telecommunication and the Internet. One of the most outstanding protocols is WAP, which brought the wireless technology to another level. WAP helps the wireless users access to Internet through the mobile phone or other microbrowser, and provides the more convenient and rapid channel to acquire information.It requests extremely high efficiency of information for flood prevention decision-making. Comprehensive, timely and accurate information is the base of flood prevention decision-making. With the limitation of local environments, the flood prevention directors have difficulty in gaining the newest flood prevention information through Internet. Combined with the characteristics and demands of flood prevention, this thesis designs and develops the the real time processing wireless platform of water and rainfall information based on WAP wireless communication system, and provides the information mobile service and the initiative information "push" service, guarantee information real time transference.WAP stands for Wireless Application Protocol , which can accommodate the low-bandwidth constraints of a wireless-handheld network and the low speed constraints of handheld devices. The biggest advantage of WAP is that it has no direct relation with the lower physical level of the device. By providing interoperable optimizations specifications suitable to the wireless telecommunications environment. The WAP provide an environment that permits wireless devices to utilize existing Internet technologies. This paper intensively introduced the background of WAP protocol, the Protocol Stack, and the application models.This thesis focuses on studying the application of middleware theoretically and practically. In this dissertation, principles of middleware are introduced. Then three major object-oriented middleware technologies have been discussed. The paper concentrates on the middleware technology and the development of middleware. The architecture and their characteristics of three middlewares are carefully analyzed. Then based on the analysis of the middleware technology, this paper presents the system architecture of a platform middleware based on WAP Middleware Platform of Water and Rainfall Information and middleware model.At last, combined with WAP and middleware platform, we designs and develops the real time processing wireless platform of water and rainfall information. which has simple operation, clear information expression and friendly user interface. This wireless platform has reasonable organization structure and comprehensive content, can effectively enhance the efficiency of flood prevention information and satisfy the needs the flood prevention service. Therefore, this wireless platform provides good reference for other industries to build up wireless platform, and it has good application prospect.
