Application Of Search Engine Based On Grid Technology

The grid is one kind of new distributed computing technology, which will be the third generation Internet applies, after traditional Internet and World Wide Web. The grid technology assembles computers from network in different positions into a virtual supercomputer. Taking full advantage of resources such as computing, storages and scientific instruments will be the direction of the future Internet. The current grid technical standard is tending to perfect step by step after a long-term evolution, but the grid computation had not found a model to apply to the enterprises, in order to reducing cost improving efficiency. The research of this paper is take the search engine as an example, explores a pattern in using grid technology. It is not only an innovation to increase profit by grid, but also a great attempt for further using.First of all, the paper introduces the concept of grid technology, summarizes the development of grid technology structure in the last few years, and expatiates on the contracture of Globus Toolkit 4.0, one of the most famous grid middleware. And then specifically elaborates the principle and main work of search engine, and deeply analyses the disadvantage and shortage. Profits from Globus Toolkit in construction, proposes one kind of search engine application based on the grid technology. This application splits the work of search engine into several parts; the search part which directly faced to users is kept by entertainment, and others, which are time-consuming and data-consuming, are assumed by grid node. Thus, realize the purposes that utilize the unused resource in reason and save the company's time and money, without affecting the efficiency of search engine. This paper narrated the principle and realization of security, data management, execution management and client program. And have some assumptions that mobilize users' enthusiasm. At last it forecasts the prospect of this model.
