Globus-based Grid Resource Management

With the third Internet wave coming, the resources in the Internet are richer than before, including thousands of computing resources, data resources, software resources, and many digital devices, controlling systems. These resources are the important carriers for producing, spreading and using knowledge. Before we can share these resources in effect, how to integrate the resources, avoid the information islands and use the common interface to operate the different resources should be solved first. The Grid is the solution for the combination and visualization of resources. The Grid Computing is becoming one of the most important technologies of the next IT wave, and promotes new applications.The coming out of the Grid Computing architectures, such as five-tier sandglass model, OGSA, OGSI and so on, speeds up the unification of the standards of grid computing, which set up the foundation for the practical applications of grid computing. As it is used and researched frequently, Globus has become the actual standard of Grid Computing.
