With the third Internet wave coming, the resources in the Internet are richer than before, including thousands of computing resources, data resources, software resources, and many digital devices, controlling systems. These resources are the important carriers for producing, spreading and using knowledge. Before we can share these resources in effect, how to integrate the resources, avoid the information islands and use the common interface to operate the different resources should be solved first. The Grid is the solution for the combination and visualization of resources. The Grid Computing is becoming one of the most important technologies of the next IT wave, and promotes new applications. The coming out of the Grid Computing architectures, such as five-tier sandglass model, OGSA, OGSI and so on, speeds up the unification of the standards of grid computing, which set up the foundation for the practical applications of grid computing. Especially, the coming out with WSRF specification makes grid computing platform integrating the current systems easily. The grid toolkit Globus is developed by Globus Project. As it is used and researched frequently, Globus has become the actual standard of Grid Computing. The newest version of Globus Toolkit is 4.0, which implements the WSRF specification. The grid resource management system is the important component in Grid Computing system. It resembles the traditional resource management systems under distributed computing environment and cluster computing environment, supporting three functions: job management, task schedule and resource management. Grid Resource Allocation Manager (GRAM) is one of the most popular grid resource management systems, which defines tier architecture for resource management. Inside the core tier, it defines the resource tier protocol and API to help the clients create computing task. Condor-G integrates Condor's eximious job management functions into Globus'secure communication among domains protocol and standard remote batch process system access protocol, and help the Condor users to use Globus resources...
