| Background in the news report on China for foreign audience is a special writing skill which crosses different language and culture. Under the figure-ground laws of Gestalt psychology theory, this thesis tries to analyze the uses of the background in the news report on China for foreign audience, and to propose some measures to improve the communication effects of the news report.The thesis is divided into six parts. The first chapter introduces the basic theory ground by document reviewing. The second chapter focuses on the definition of news background and the gestalt theory. The third and the fourth chapters analyze the functions of different types of background and their special uses. The fifth chapter discusses the key point of effective communication on news report on China for foreign audience. At the end of the thesis, it emphasizes the function of background on news report for foreign audience, and gives suggestions on forward study. |
