Automobile traffic accident is today one of the global hazards, and China is encountering serious traffic accidents. Since traffic accidents happen in an instant, we do not know some details, and they easily create the wrong impression, so it difficult to deal with traffic accidents. We need identify the truth and cause of the accident, including the responsibility for the accident fairly, objectively and rigorously. It is very important in dealing with traffic accidents.Now people depend mainly on tape measurement, recording evidence, human judgment to deal with traffic accidents, and there are obvious defects. Total station is a more advanced means than tape to scene survey and drawing scene map, and there had been some increased efficiency. However, compared to photogrammetry technology, there is still a large gap in terms of the measurement speed. In addition, information obtained by photogrammetry has the unique advantages of original, integrity and reusability. Along with the development of the national economy and the increase of automobiles in the country's use, the research and development of image measurement, accident scene reconstruction and accident simulation with computer-related technology appears to be particularly important.Photogrammetry technology used in traffic accidents can effectively shorten the scene measurement time, improve processing speed, restore the normal traffic order quickly, and reduce the possibility of secondary accidents. At the same time, photogrammetry results can be directly applied to the accident reconstruction. Simulating the whole process of the accident, analyzing the causes and dealing with traffic accidents objectively and fairly based on photogrammetry technology can not only greatly improve the scene processing speed of the accident to ensure that the road is smooth, but also enhance the quality of handling traffic accidents.Much attention has been paid to the key technologies of traffic simulation and reconstruction in this paper. We focus on photogrammetry technology and its application in dealing with traffic accidents. The main work is as follows:1. Study the extraction method of calibration feature points, propose the HSV corner detection algorithm, and compare the performances of various corner detection algorithms.Chessboard corners are different from ordinary corners, having obvious symmetry. Taking full account of the characteristics of gray contrasts, HSV corner detection algorithm combining Forstner operator gets sub-pixel corners. In addition, the introduction of linear detection algorithm accelerates the speed of corner detection.2. The traditional camera calibration methods are described, and put forward an improved two-step calibration method.Camera calibration is the key of vision measuring; calibration accuracy and calculation speed are important indicators of calibration algorithm. The improved method has low computational complexity, and the radial distortion of the lens is considered.3. Implement the traffic accident measurement module based on a new algorithm for extracting the corners and an improved two-step calibration method.Measurement algorithm has good accuracy, and the measurement module can provide the simulation system a lot of information at the scene.4. Apply photogrammetry technology to handling traffic accidents, and then implement a three-dimensional traffic accident simulation system based on the technology of virtual reality.Design three-dimensional traffic accident simulation system, construct three-dimensional models in accidents using 3 DS MAX, achieved call and control to 3D models in this system. Discuss the accident animation rendering, optimized methods of final output. Among many types of accidents, achieve the simulation of car-to-car collision based on the technology of virtual reality.
