Although the road traffic accidents have shown a slightly decreasing trend, theystill have caused huge injury and losses because of a large base. It is necessary torequire a faster and more impartial method for the identification work of trafficaccident, which is significant for promoting the cause of traffic safety.The development of the digital photography technology and the improvementof the image processing technology have provided powerful support for drawingtraffic accident scene. The key factor of drawing traffic accident scene precisely andquickly is the relative position of the traffic accident scene elements. Only after thescene elements are determined, such as the relative position of imprint, fallout, thecollision point and stop fixed position etc., can the accident process be reappearedmore accurately. At present, the image measurement is primarily conducted toresearch under the premise of preventing the calibration objects, but this willincrease the procedures of the accident scene investigation, which is unfavorable tosurvey quickly. In the case of the above mentioned methods having not been widelypromoted, the manual measurement is applied to majority region, therefore, it is stillquite difficult to further process the digital images without the specific calibrationobjects. In some cases, when the distance of the accident scene elements is notmeasured or mistake the records, as well as the accident scene has been dissolved, itis very difficult to reexamine these incomplete data of distance due to lack ofevidence.This study mainly starts with the image pre-processing and the direct lineartransformation of photo space. This study further analysis about restoring theaccident scene, in the case of specific calibration objects, based on the imagemeasurement technology of the road markings, as well as measuring the distance ofrequired scene elements in the images within the maximum precision scope.On the basis of the image two-dimensional correction, the program wasdeveloped to measure the accident scene elements based on the road markings, andthe program was used to analyze simulation cases and actual cases. Through test, it is shown the feasibility of this method, and analyzed the factors that have an effecton the measuring accuracy.Finally, in order to improve the measuring accuracy of image measurement,this study think that when accident scene was taken photos, it is necessary to containthe road dotted lines and solid lines, and take tools, road dotted line markings, roadsolid line markings and the elements to be measured into images, measure thedistances between which can greatly improve the accuracy of photogrammetry.
