Machine vision mostly uses computer to simulate human's vision function to acquire information from object's image for processing and analyzing, which applies the result to practical detection, measure and control. China is becoming "World factory", so its manufacturing is widespread, but development of machine vision is later than developed countries. Now China is in term of concept import and its market potential can not be ignored. So it is necessary to do some research and exploration in aspect of design and application of machine vision system.The aim of the paper is to construct a general and applicable image auto-capturing platform, in order to develop the visual detecting system satisfying the different application requirements various industrial environments efficiently and rapidly. The whole structure of high-speed line-scanning image acquisition system is constructed as follows: one task is to select and configure illuminating resource, optical lens, image acquisition card, the CCD camera. Another task is to design the circuits to measure, process and control signals. It also needs to design the software of single chip processor, CPLD and PC. The new and characteristic points in this paper are the hardware and software designs in the module using photoelectric encoder to measure the velocity of transport belt, the module using infrared curtain to measure the length and height of object, the module using stepping motor to adjust the focus of optical lens and the module using a double-chips of 89C51 single-chip processor and ispMACH4256V to control signals.The system can capture the clear and high-resolution image of high-speed object. It also can store the information of several objects and intelligently capture their images. The system can be applied in many fields and have a good future.
