Test Project Design And Research For MSTP SURPASS HiT 7035

Multi-Service Transport Platform based on the SDH technology can simultaneously realizes business access, processing and transmission of TDM, ATM, Ethernet, also provide uniform net management system. It has SDH, ATM as well as the Ethernet /IP processing function. Through gathering multi- services and highly effective & suitable adaptation, it may realize synthesis transmission of multi-services.In the present MAN construction, the MSTP equipment is the essential equipment with high priority, therefore comprehensively test the MSTP equipment, and set it in the simulative network environment to carry on the test of the stability, the reliability, the security, the maintainability, the manageability etc., which will be great help to MAN construction.How to test and maintain this new transmission equipment——MSTP which contains data interface (mainly for Ethernet interface) and to contain the data traditional PDH/SDH interface is becoming the new challenge in the field. Relative standards involved in the project as below: YD/T 1238/2002 " Multi-Services Transmission Node Technology Specification based on the SDH" and YD/T 1276/2003 " Multi-Services Transmission Node Test Method based on SDH ", "ATM Switch Technology standard" regarding the ATM interface and its spec., RFC2544/1242, RFC2889/2285 regarding Ethernet switch technology.This test project is the comprehensive test before delivery, a little different with prototype test in the stage of product'R&D, mostly set the energy on product's function test, the test content also mainly is stressing in the function and the performance test. Mainly includes following several aspects: The SDH test (equipment high order cross connecting capacity, Virtual Concatenation capacity, VC channel bit-error characteristic, support ability to SDH overhead bytes and Jitter/Wander characteristic); The Ethernet function test (Ethernet transparent/L2/Aggregation function check and performance test); The ATM function test (ATM transparent/switch function and performance test, IMA test); The timing test (Timing Architecture, Timing switch function, clock performance etc.) and network management system test (Developed by Nokia Siemens ).SURPASS hiT 7035 is a new type developed by Nokia Siemens for MAN. It supports multi-interface, including Ethernet & ATM-IMA interface, also PDH/SDH interface which aligns to industry standard. The test project is involved in many sides of MSTP, on the other hand, though the company's quantity related with MSTP is not a small number, while really with perfect test project, not so more. So the test project will be a good guide to future product's R&D or mass production.In addition, regarding it is a test project for mass production, automatic test program is needed, so in the test project, Agilent's Vee Pro will be introduced, and for understanding, a test sample developed by Vee Pro will be described too.
