A Study On The Reports (1998-2007) About Professional Women In "Beijing Youth Daily"

This thesis which based on the samples from the newspaper"Beijing Youth Daily", analysis it's reports about the living situation of Chinese professional women, and to work out what progress our newspaper have been made on this crowd, and what deficiency they have. Finally give them some constructive suggestions.According to the analysis of these samples, we have found that"Beijing Youth Daily"has been making great efforts on report on professional women, and they have advanced a lot whether it's arrangement of pages or the contents of reports. Even expansion of page as a material condition, newspapermen have paid more attention to female colony. This operates actively on improving the media image of professional women, giving them better services and establishing harmonious society.There are also many shortages. For example, those ways of report through short news failed to show the panorama of professional women's living status, lacked the balance among different occupations, overlooked the body and mental health of those women in middle age and older, those pages where covered professional women seemed disorder without determinate quantity, haven't been established longstanding and steady mode of reports. Therefore, this paper will give some corresponding suggestions. For example, we can establish special column, pay more attention to setting topics, open out sample research every two years, clasp with professional research institutions for more reasonable guide lines about how to cover this crowd appropriately.Professional women have been contacting the social changes tightly because they mostly engage in those jobs in the third industry. To report professional women is the manifestation of newspaper keeping close watch on the social development. This thesis will give those people in the press an outline what kind of crowd of professional women in journalism operation point of view, and whether this way is right or not, are there some places to be improved. Just for mutual encouragement.
