The Study And Realization Of The Telecommunication Network Management System

The size and the framework complexity of network have been ever growing thanks to the high-speed development of the communication and computer technology. With the introduction and application of the different kinds of network management system based on the various technology or protocols, the management of the whole network was scattered without universal interface, which may impair the effectiveness of the widely used new technology and equipment.Communication network management system is a new intelligentized technology in communication industry, which aims to utilize the resource of telecommunication sufficiently, improve the quality and efficiency of the network, and provide the consumers better service. Telecommunication network management (TNM) is able to realize these objects, and establish a standard management interface to integrate whole network products from different companies or platforms.In this paper, OSI management, TMN, SNMP and Web-based network management , the four most popular network management solutions, were discussed and analyzed firstly. In light of this analysis and comparison among the four solutions, a new solution for the telecommunications network management of GLD to meet the demand of the PLA General Logistics Department (GLD) was advanced in this study. Based on TMN, and managed itself by SNMP, this new solution was designed to be implemented step by step.In the solution, considering the actuality and requirement of the GLD's telecommunication network management, a simple integrated method was introduced in the early construction of the network management system. The database was adopted as a medium to achieve the integration of the business management layers for the whole network management system and to avoid the complicated interface problems. With the technology improvement, the integration of the lower management layers would be implemented step by step until to the network layer, and the integration of the network management systems could be finally achieved. At the end of this paper, the software named Watch & Maintenance System Of Telecommunication Network Management was presented on the basis of the above thoughts.
