The Design Of VOD System Based On Streaming Media Technology In The Digitized Community

With the rapid development of network and multimedia technologies, VOD (video-on-demand ) has been applied more and more widely. The phenomenal prevalence of the digital communities bring VOD service expansive future prospects; The deep development of network technologies enables people to enjoy VOD service of high quality. So, this paper conducts research and design in view of VOD system based on streaming media technology for the digitized communities.The first part expatiates the background and developmental actuality, also it points out the localization and developmental trend of actual VOD technologies.The second part expatiates technological foundation of VOD system. It detailedly dissertates streaming media technology and it's system roof garden, and analyzes multimedia constringent technology, multimedia network transmit technology and multimedia databank technology. Also it discusses the transmition and protocols of MPEG-4 video streaming.The third part analyzes VOD system configuration .It compares three actual system implement schemes and detailedly dissertates the development of VOD system based network, and gives out two detailed design schemes, finally it tell us how to select a appropriate project for a digitized community.The forth part is the design of VOD system in the digitized communities and it designs a VCR-like and unicast VOD system based on local area network, the video files adopt MPEG-4 format. It's describes the frame of the VOD system as a whole and introduces the function of each module, deeply researches about the VOD server, emphatically discusses the implementation of server and the optimization of system performance.This paper gives out a design of VOD system based on streaming media technology in the digitized communities according to the characteristics of digitized community, and it can meets consumer's demand. it can also be consulted in the design of VOD system for schools, hotels, cabarets and hospitals.
