Study On The Application Of The Product Data Management System For The Auto Body Development

In the China 10th five-year plan, it is clarified that industrialization shall be driven by informationalization and the comprehensive competent of traditional manufacturing industry be elevated relying on information technology. For the automobile manufacturing enterprise, the application of CAD/ CAE/ CAM technology has promoted productivity development, but brought the new challenge. Although various units computer assistance technology oneself is day by day mature. But between each other it lacks effective information sharing and forms "the information isolated island".Product Data Management (PDM) is a technology based on information technology, focusing on product, integrating and managing all of the information related to product. PDM technology is an indispensable tool for enterprise informationalization. The application of PDM reduces the product development cycle and cost and promotes related efficiency by means of real-time transmission of information and whole share of data within product development system. Therefore, the implementation of PDM system is the effective way to meet the demand of speediness for product development by market and also the only road to enhance the product innovation and development capacity of the enterprises.The paper firstly discusses the background of PDM technology, the development trend,the structure and some important modules. Based on the process auto body development, the characteristics of the data and existent problem, it makes an overall and in-depth analysis on demands for PDM system in terms of function, property and organization.To achieve goal of the PDM system for the auto body development, it puts forward the function model and discusses function modules of the system and the data between each module. Then it develops the PDM system based on TCENG, and the documents management, the product structure management and the product project management have been introduced.Owing to the importance and complexity of the workflow management, the paper introduces the workflow definition and the model, and the actual situation of the development carries on the design to the workflow design, including mission allotment process, documents issue process, engineering change process etc.Through the research of the technology of product data management of auto body development and its actual application in the auto body development, we can find out that the product data management system of auto body development can not only support concurrent and integrated environment of auto body development effectively, realize the unified management and share of product data, but also support on current design of auto body better.
