Research And Implementation Of Workflow Management Based On Product Structure In PDM System

Along with the rapid development of computer technology and the maturity of thetechnologies such as object-oriented technology, data storage technology, theenterprise production also develop gradually to the systematization, automation andlarge-scale. PDM system emerges along with the process of enterprise informatization.PDM system, which PDM means Product Data Management, is a kind ofpowerful management software which provides support for the product developmentof the enterprise in the data and process. For manufacturing enterprises, the productsthey make everyday are usually organized through the form of the product structure.The workflow management, in which the main line is the product, is used widely.Therefore, it is essential to control the data and process of the entire product based onthe product structure.As the detailed business data information is an important part of the daily designin the course of production of enterprise, the enterprise requirements of it increasehighly. Therefore, the workflow management system has become the powerfulguarantee to achieving the design and production process of the enterprise controlledautomated of its good data management ability and process control capability.With the increasing requirements of the modern enterprise for detailed businessdata in the design and production process, the workflow management system hasbecome a necessary tool to realize the automatic operation of the enterprise businessprocess. Workflow management technology, which as one of the research hotspots inmodern management techniques can increase the work efficiency effectively, improveand optimize the design and production of the enterprise business process.For solving the needs for the product structure and the workflow management insmall and medium sized auto parts manufacturing, ensuring standardization of thedesign and production of enterprise products, and improving the efficiency of designproducts, by using a PDM system which is self-developed by our echelon as theresearch background, this paper designs a workflow management system based onproduct structure and achieved by coding. Firstly, the paper analyzes the demand forthe workflow management based on product structure of the enterprise. This papermakes a comprehensive analysis from two aspects of functional requirements and nonfunctional requirements. Secondly, the paper introduces the design scheme of workflow management based on product structure. This paper focuses on the design ofthe product structure, the workflow model and its formal definition, and the workflowengine which is how to ensure the workflow start and normally push. Finally, throughthe results show of the actual application process of the system, the paper illustrate thatthis system can manage product data and its design and production process effectively,allow the user to build the product structure and workflow related to the productflexibly and quickly, and advance the process automatically according to the result ofinstantiation. This system is flexibility and universality.
