Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW) means a distributed group employs the network technology to build a shared workspace and teams up a task. It is a new field that utilizes the computer technology to realize the model of cooperation, and researches how to coordinate a group of members to fulfill a collaborative task (CW) in the computer supported environment (CS).WWW (the World Wide Web) makes it possible that all kinds of cooperation on the basis of Internet can be realized in the range of the global sphere. Many of cooperation systems for WWW have been developed, such as the Conference System for WWW, the E-Mail System, Workflow System and the Shared Workspace System. Though these systems' functions are different, a common point is that they obtain more convenient, flexible and extendable by using the human-computer interface for WWW.In this article, we study the integration between CSCW and WWW from two aspects, using SOAP as the communication protocol of CSCW system and improving the user interface by utilizing WWW. The following is the main work of this thesis.◆On the basis of studying the Groupware of CSCW, we analyze the same characters of the functions between different Groupware Systems and the behaviors of applications for Web. Finally, we construct the functional model for Virtual Cooperative Space based on those characters.◆First, after different RPC models are compared, we enumerate some virtues of SOAP as RPC. Finally, we study the key technology of SOAP.◆Discussing the architecture of the Virtual Cooperative Space, and describing the realization of each module in frameworks in details.
