Study On Library Development Countermeasures In The Open Access World

Open access is a free principle and publishing mechanism which contains auctorial putting and users'getting, and its core is to let the users all over the world use document works freely under network environment. Open access caters to characteristic of information exchanging in network age and offers a kind of free and exoteric research environment for all the investigators and web users. The thesis is composed of six chapters, four parts.Firstly, the article reviewed congener researching in and abroad and recommended the procreant background, meaning and translation, vehicles and advantage and disadvantage of open access.Secondly, based on these, it analyzed the opportunity that brought to library by open access, and discussed that open access would enrich library collection, release fund pressure, enlarge research resource and promote availability rate of electronic journals.Thirdly, the paper elaborated open access would bring challenge to library culture and concept, role orientation, resource sharing, technology means and service mode.At last, the author pointed out corresponding countermeasure and advice, for instance, renovating conception, utilizing metadata developing technology, transforming traditional service and so on. The library should take an active part in open access movement and take a series of measures to promote the use of open access resources.
