The Comment On Three Stages Of The Development Of Environment Reports In China

The environment reports, which appeared in the media in 1980s, were at a comparatively late date in China. With the environmental problem becoming the important issues to Chinese government and public, the environment reports, which have been changed from boundary news to one of the main news, has became rich in content and various in type. Though over 20 years reports on environment, the media in China have accumulated abundant experience in reporting environment news. The paper, which takes People's Daily, China Youth Daily and China Environment News for instance, divides the Chinese environment reports into 3 stages, including the beginning stage, the prosperous stage and the perfect stage by empirical research. The paper summarizes the media's performance of each period by data analysis to find out the media's problems in reporting environment news, such as the problem of reporters'professional morality, the problem of reporting type and views and the shortage of reporting content. At last, the paper gives expectation and suggestion to Chinese media.
