"May Fourth Youth" characters reported,as one of the ways of media discourse in commemorating the May Fourth Movement,which not only shaped the media image of youth models,but also constructed and carried forward the spirit of the May Fourth Movement.This article selects the "May Fourth Youth" character reports of China Youth Daily from 1951 to 1966 and 1978 to 2019 as the research objects.(Published in 1951,discontinued in 1966,resumed in 1978)There is a diachronic study of the changing rules of the "May Fourth Youth" character reporting framework and the mechanism of social power.The study uses a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods,and uses content analysis and text analysis methods.First,the study initiate content analysis and text analysis of the May Fourth Youth character reported on the gender,individual or group attributes,occupational fields,image characteristics,as well as reporting issues and reporting tendencies with subject lines content analysis and text analysis with subject lines.Second,according to the characteristics of the text and the discourse framework of the report,the "May Fourth Youth" character reporting is divided into three major stages,namely 1951-1965,1978-2003,and 2004-2019.Among them,according to different categories in each major stage,in the process of specific analysis,a second division.Then,based on the framework theory,this article analyzes the content of the"May Fourth Youth" character reports at low,middle,and high levels,respectively,in order to explore the changes in the discourse expression framework of the report,the change of the May Fourth Youth media image,and the construction of meaning orientation Changes,it was initially found that the changes in the discourse expression framework of "May Fourth Youth" people's reports are mainly manifested in the following:the report subject changes from group to individual,the report's gender ratio varies greatly,the report perspective changes from subjective to objective,and the tendency of reporting has always been Focus on positive reporting and report topics from "single" to "diversified" to "centralized".The main objects of the "May Fourth Youth" media image have been mainly industry and education(1951-1965),agriculture and education(1978-1991),and security and culture and entertainment(1992).-2003)and mainly economic and educational figures(2004-2019).At different historical stages,the internal characteristics of the media image of the "May 4th Youth" manifestations are shared and unique."May Fourth Youth" characters reported that the main sentence constructs different discourse paradigms at different historical stages,highlights different aspects of the May Fourth Spirit connotation,and gives the May Fourth Spirit a specific historical period of interpretation and meaning.Based on the analysis of the content framework at different levels in each period,the author introduces field theory to analyze the social power relationship reflected in the "May Fourth Youth" character reports,showing the "May Fourth Youth" character reports and different societies.Interaction between contexts.In the end,the author found that in the "May Fourth Youth" reports on news production,political power played a leading role in the "party principle",while economic power gradually penetrated into it with the reform of media marketization,and technological power changed through Disseminate the ecological pattern and affect the credibility of mainstream media.In the end,the author believes that in the interweaving of various powers in the news field,we should adhere to journalism professionalism and actively practice the spirit of the May Fourth Movement,especially the spirit of the May 4th patriotism,with cultural stability And persistence,and strive to maintain autonomy in the practice of journalism.
