The Design And Development Of A Restaurant Management System With Wireless Terminal Support

In recent years, restaurant business has been developed as a promotiveindustry. Therefore, creating a modem information management system ofrestaurants has become more and more insight consensus for the businesscommunity. According to the actual needs of restaurants, this thesis introducesthe developing technologies of the restaurant management system based onthe C/S structure with wireless terminal support. The system consists of thefollowing modules: reservation management, opening table and orderingmanagement, the kitchen management, inventory management, customer andmembership management, handheld computer (PDA) dishes ordering system,POS ordering system, inquiries management. This system enhances themodernization of the restaurant management. The feature of supportingwireless terminal of this system greatly improves the working efficiency.This Restaurant Management System can be used to reduce the workloadand the intensity of the work. It will play an important role in modernrestaurant industry.In the development of system, we use the advanced development toolssuch as BORLAND DELPHI 7, MICROSOFT SQL SERVER2000 and so on,and use the object-oriented programming techniques. The study of the thesisincludes:1) Introduces the developing on the technology of restaurantmanagement simplify.2) Discusses the requirement in the system functions and database ofrestaurant management, and puts the process to the system design.3) Designs all the function modules in detail.4) Solves all kinds of technical problems of the restaurantmanagement system.Finally, this thesis summarizes the work carried out, and points out thecharacteristics and efficiency of the system. So this thesis provides a reference for the similar system developing.
