With the rapid development of commodity economy and the popularization of computer technology, computer has penetrated into all fields of modern society. It brings a lot of convenience to people in work and life as well as releasing staffs from heavy manual operation.Restaurant industry is one of the most important industries in today's social life.However,along with the economy developing,the request for restaurant becomes higher and higher.Restaurant information management is an essential aspect of restaurant service. It mainly includes information management of restaurant front,customers with order and check-out informations,reservation service informations, which are referred to restaurant business process as well as background service management with financial statistics,inventory informations,supplier informations and employee informations.To a certain extent, using Restaurant Information Management System can improve the labor efficiency,saving the restaurant operaing costs, reduce the errors which causing by human factors in the working part, so that customers can enjoy a more favorable and efficient service. Restaurant information management technology has become a necessity in today's rapid development of computer technology, a fullyfunctional,user friendly to restaurant management system will make the restaurant business management become more organized, giving the restaurant operator more social and economic benefits.This subject mainly researches and completes a small restaurant management based on MFC application framework and ADO database technology. By combining all of these, this paper researches the small-scale restaurants, and brings the scheme of completing system. All researches and works including the schemes of restaurant management system; the research and design of system frame and function; the design and implementation of database. Among these I mainly research the following key technologies:user needs analysis; the design of Data Flow Diagram and Entity-Relationship Diagram; the flow chart of the module procedures and so on.This paper discusses the design ideas of restaurant management system, and the basic module functions of the design and code, finally makes out an ulimately, simple, functional, practical restaurant management system for small-scale restaurant operator. This system is mainly for the users of small-scale restaurant operators, this part of users'hardware resources generally have a low configuration, and the amount of information required for management are relativaly little. But they have more demands on the ease and stability of operation and maintenance. The final implement system completed the front sevice of the ordering-dishes, check-out, reservation service and help functions, and restaurant management background in information management, system management, database management and other functions. The implementation of those functions could help the operator take care of the restaurant more systematically. On the one hand, the operator can use the system to response to customer'demands in time, such as choosing a table for customer, order modification, bill payment, reservation service and so on. On the other hand,can alse manage the important information on employees,inventory and others, and statistical analysis of the financial situation of the restaurant. At last, by testing, the system shows that the system is feasible and the good effect expected can be acquired, and it greatly enhances the restaurant information and makes good contribution to restaurant business and social profits.
