With the continuous development of micro-electronics and unceasing improvement of FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array) technology, SOPC (System On a Programmable Chip) technique has gradually become the new development direction of embedded systems. SOPC attracts designers'attention by its characteristics, such as flexibility, diminishable and programmable on software and hardware. The fast development of SOPC also drives the quickly development of IP technique which supports the SOPC. However, the study and application in this field is less in China, and the research on the IP-reuse technique which is SOPC oriented has a precious value. The first chapter introduces the concepts of SOC, IP core, SOPC, and their current developing status in the world. The second is about two important techniques in SOPC design. One is IP-reuse, and the other is HW/SW co-design. Chapter 2 also introduces several kinds of prevalent processor IP core and bus. In chapter 3, the rules of IP-reuse in SOPC are studied, and the design method with user IP in EDK implement of Xilinx company is researched in detail. The last chapter describes the design of three typical function module IP cores: DDS, CRC ,UART. Then the simulation of the modules are verified well.
