Internet Communication: Under The Stratification Of Contemporary Chinese Society

At present, structure of our social strata has changed a lot, whose main characteristic is the development of the burgeoning intermediate strata. It certainly will bring a train of changes in the aspects of the social politic, economy, culture etc. As the social vane, mass media would be affected firstly.On the other hand, with the development of IT, as the new carrier of information, network's position was becoming ceaseless consolidation as the "fourth medium". As a new medium, it would be affected and restricted more easily by the various social environments and conditions.The basic purpose of the dissertation is to study the relations between the network communication and the stratification of the contemporary Chinese society and to know how they affect each other as well as the advantages and disadvantages that the network communication acts upon the mobility of the social strata. Thereby, adopting its good points and avoiding its shortcomings to build a fair, rational and open society by making good use of the network medium, which promotes the social mobility, and to build a democracy, free, harmonious society ultimately.Through the study we find that, the network medium's target users were becoming definitude and its contents were becoming divided further because of the stratification of the contemporary Chinese society, especially the development and the expanding of the intermediate strata, which makes more and more people participate in the network communication. It's no doubt that it will make benefits to the development of the network communication. Meanwhile, owning to the enormous effects that the network communication acts upon the education and the employment, the social stratum moves on. The intermediate strata's social position becomes firmly because of the reports that the network media made. On the other hand, the network communication also brings the expansion of the "knowledge gap "and the increasing cyber crime, which giving the unfavorable factors to the social strata flows upward. The innovations of this research lie in the writer pay attention to the network communication from the angle of the social stratification and to confirm the interactive relations as well as to discover the advantages and disadvantages, thus to discover the methods of using the network communication to promote the mobility of social strata.
