In this paper, a clean fuel production-line is introduced. Taking the mixing line as an example, the design and implementation of a small-scale Distributed Control System (DCS) is presented. Development and application of the small clean fuel conversion distributed control system, has important significance to improving production efficiency and product quality.To meet the demand of the process flow of the clean fuel mixing line, the whole architecture design about the system's two-layer functional architecture, Field control station-Operator station, is set up. The field control stations are achieved by Programmable Logical Controller (PLC), while the operator stations are composed of Industrial Personal Computer (IPC). Then the network communication connection of the system is designed to achieve timely and reliable data transmission between the field control stations and the operator stations. The communication network is a token ring and its structure is bus topology. Following these, the function of the field control stations is described in details, which not only controls the field devices and transmits real time data to the operator stations to realize global monitoring and controlling, but also receives commands and data from the operator stations, which represents "distributed control, centralized management". After these, according to the control requirements of the operator stations, the monitoring and controlling software system is developed with IFIX, which realizes real time control centralized management and visual dynamic display of the production process. By use of VBA (Visual Basic for Application), the function of IFIX is extended to get historical data, and with Visual basic6.0, a simple and practical report form program is developed on the basis of IFIX's report form.At last, combined with the installation and testing experience and according to the actual situation of production line of clean fuel, the performance of the distributed control system analyzed. Measures and methods of improving the stability and reliability of DCS summed up.
