The Study Of The Characteristic Database For Higher Professional Education

This paper designs and develops a characteristic database for higher professional education in view of present situation and characteristic of higher professional education in China. In the first place of the paper, the author expounds necessity and feasibility of structuring the characteristic database for higher professional education, examines and analyses higher professional education network information resources of China and other countries, points out the outcome of this examine and gives basic evaluation of it. This examine can help us accumulate experience for structuring the characteristic database. This paper focuses its discussion on the procedure of structuring the characteristic database. First of all the author clarifies the orientation of the characteristic database and points out basic principles of it. Second, the author put forward an enforcement plan for the construction of the characteristic database for higher professional education in Tianjin according to practical experience. The enforcement plan embraces main conditions of the construction of the characteristic database, general functional aim and the functional aims of every branch of database, method of operation, basic functions of user' s interface, the frame of system construction, the design of database form, the realization of system function.
