Investigation And Analysis On The Construction Of Characteristic Database Of University Libraries In Jiangsu

With the rapid development of information technology and communication technology,digital information resources have become the major information resources in modern society.China’s University Library as an important service of information resources,in order to effectively use modern information technology and digital resources to provide quality service for the University’s scientific research and teaching activities,there have been more and more university libraries rely on self library resources,information resources of collection and management ability,to build all kinds of characteristic database[1].In recent years,the information management of university library has also changed greatly,and the construction of characteristic database has been paid more and more attention.Jiangsu Province as one of the national economy is developed,the country’s leading position in the overall strength of colleges and universities in Jiangsu province and their level of library development,so the overall situation in Jiangsu province of the university libraries is better,there are some remarkable results,especially in Jiangsu Province,the comprehensive strength of the top undergraduate school.These universities not only make great efforts to introduce large numbers of digital resources both at home and abroad,but also establish their own characteristic databases according to their own resource advantages or subject advantages.these have strong comprehensive strength,the characteristic database of undergraduate colleges and universities library,not only in the number of a lot of,covering a wide range,and has very good results.Therefore,it has certain typical significance in the construction of characteristic database of University library.To investigate and analyze them,we hope to provide reference and guidance for the construction and sustainable development of University Libraries in China.however,inevitably,the characteristic database of University Library Construction in Jiangsu Province,there are still some problems need to face,even a part of the construction of the characteristic database of university library has not yet entered the initial stage,the development of the characteristic database to create.This paper studies the characteristic database construction of University Libraries in Jiangsu Province,not only provide specific and feasible suggestions for construction of Jiangsu province characteristic database in university library,to further improve the comprehensive strength of University Libraries in Jiangsu Province,but also conducive to enhance the overall strength of colleges and universities in Jiangsu Province,to promote the overall economic development level in Jiangsu area.The content of this article is divided into seven chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,which introduces the background,significance and purpose of the topic,research status at home and abroad,research methods and ideas,as well as the innovation of this article.The content of the second chapter is the investigation and design of the characteristic database construction of University Libraries in Jiangsu province.The object of this investigation,the content of the investigation and the steps of the investigation are also determined.The contents of the third chapter is the investigation of the overall situation in Jiangsu Province,the university libraries,5 aspects,mainly concentrated in the following are:Jiangsu province university libraries survey,the distribution of the number of cities and the characteristic database of University Library in Jiangsu Province,to investigate the distribution of different types of University libraries in Jiangsu Province,the investigation on the distribution of Jiangsu university library characteristic database revealed the subject name of the survey investigation,Jiangsu Province,the characteristic database of University library.The contents of the fourth chapter is the analysis of the typical cases in Jiangsu province of the university libraries,combined with the quantity and quality of the construction of characteristic database,this paper selects the University Library in Jiangsu Province,three representative are:Soochow University,Nanjing Normal University,China University of Mining and Technology library,which expounds the current situation of the three universities library characteristic database construction at present then,analysis the advantages and shortcomings of them created.The fifth chapter is the analysis of problems and causes in Jiangsu province of the university libraries,based on the survey and analysis of the Enlightenment of third chapters and fourth chapters,the fifth chapter summarizes the current characteristics of University Libraries in Jiangsu province according to the number of problems and reasons existing in the construction of the library,can be summarized as the following four points are:the characteristic database development level is not balanced,the construction of characteristic database awareness,characteristic database propaganda is low,poor maintenance of characteristic database.The sixth chapter is the thoughts and suggestions of Jiangsu province of the university libraries,four questions for the fifth chapter summed up,put forward four practical suggestions,they are:to increase the characteristic database of capital investment,reduce the development gap between the increase in the types of characteristic database;characteristic database construction,promoting the process of the construction of characteristic database;rich characteristic database of propaganda,improve the training methods of characteristic database;tracking characteristic database,the follow-up to improve the characteristics of database.The seventh chapter is the conclusion,summary of the construction of the characteristic database is not only conducive to the development level of higher school library,but also can improve the comprehensive strength of University,hope college can pay attention to the construction of characteristic database;at the same time hope,hope to be able to make greater progress in the construction of the characteristic database of University Library in Jiangsu province.
