Datahouse Technology Research And Application In DSS

With Chinese entrance into WTO, the telecom market is opening to aboard. Telecom operators are now facing a new market where competition is fiercer than ever. They realized clients are their foundation for survival and development, and it is the key to improve their core competitiveness to maintain and attract clients as well as explore the potential. Therefore, operators proposed regulations for related system so as to guide underneath companies in establishment of the network management decision support system. In general, systems existent now are on premier stage, without definite conclusion on system's location, construction method, scale and steps, besides management and operation after establishment. Other problems also exist in the systems under construction now, for instance, the need is not clear, investment and system support are not enough, system interface and development path are not distinct, both scale and function are limited.On the basis of present technology, this thesis carries out research on application of the datahouse technology in the network management. It introduces firstly the background of datahouse technology and the application in DSS, discusses the necessity of applying the datahouse technology in DSS, analyses and summarizes the needs of DSS. Then it accomplishes datahouse model and data pre-process design, mainly including the design and realizing of logical and physical models, the create of dimensional and realistic tables, the establishment of quick query index, and the import and process of datahouse initial and increment data.Through the trial, this datahouse is able to meet the up-level needs in statistics report, multidimensional analysis and data mining, the network management decision support system based on the datahouse simplifies the working procedure, solves problems in daily operation, network optimization and decision, thus obtaining high value in market application.
