The successful applications of the database management system in the library management, makes the library management become simple, efficient and perfect order, meet the administrators and readers'request. With the increasing of students in colleges and universities, the number of books in the library is also gradually increased. A large of books'data was stored in library. However, these data was simply stored in the database not to be fully used to mine useful information for decision-making in order to help librarians manage more the book the more rational and effective. It is impossible to achieve with the developments of modern colleges and universities. It was powerless that the original database management system in providing decision support for the administrators.In order to meet the teachers and students to the library's needs, making the management of the library meet the actual needs, the decision support system that was based on the data warehouse was able to make full use of the book data and change the book date into the effective decision-making information up with the data mining technology, so as to provide the important basis for the librarians'decision-making.The papers has analyzed feasibility that the technology of the data warehouse, on-line analytical processing and data mining were applied to the decision support system up with introducing and researching the theories of the data warehouse, the on-line analytical processing, the data mining and other related technology. The papers reached important decision-making information by designing the data warehouse of the colleges and universities library and the data of the colleges and universities library were extracted, transformed and loaded to the data warehouse; building the book multi-dimensional data sets and the reader multi-dimensional data sets and realizing the visit, analysis and display to the book and the reader multi-dimensional data sets; applying the K-means algorithm to realize the clustering analysis of the readers and the books and the Apriori algorithm to make association rule discovery of the book borrowed...
