Software testing and maintenance are important parts in the development of the software. The quality of the testing directly results in the final quality of the product. Software testing gets more and more percentage in the development of the product. And the maintenance also includes many testing. So, many people do more deeply research on the testing. And the maintenance and testing are very important to the customer's satisfaction and the later versions of the product's development. They are also very important to the customer's normal using and the updates to the product.The thesis mainly focuses on the assurance of the maintenance process. Software quality assurance assures the final product's quality by a series of functions and processes. The well considered maintenance processes are very helpful to the criterion for tester and improvement of the product's quality and the work efficiency. Especially to the distributed computing software like LSF, which support various operating systems and software and hardware environment, organize and manage the large scale network, the maintenance is more important and complex. A perfect and updating maintenance process is absolutely necessarily.This article describes following parts:1. The theoretic research of the maintenance and testing. The maintenance and testing are important parts of the software development. After correctly caught on them, the better the process of the maintenance made, and use more advanced methods and improve the quality and the efficiency of the maintenance.2. The definition and characteristic of the distributed computing and grid computing. Learn more abut the complexity of the distributed computing then more clearly known bout the LSF product.3. The introduction of LSF. It is helpful to intensify the knowledge through the description of the structure and the elements of LSF.4. The introduction of several processes. There are many processes in the quality assurance and the most important one is Patch Verify. It is contact with the customer directly and so important in our work than others. There are several introductions on others and standardize the processes in quality assurance.5. The analysis and solve of the cases in the work. By the deep analysis of the cases, it helps us to know more about the criterion of the processes. And there are many questions and how to resolve them, which are very helpful to be guidance and reference of real cases.
