Reliability centered maintenance (RCM) and computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) are combined based on the analysis of RCM process. The integrated model of RCM and CMMS is constructed and the integrated system of RCM and CMMS is established. This integrated system can combine RCM analysis process and the information of the design environment, the operation condition, the maintenance condition together, can change the maintenance strategy dynamically based on the plant's operation condition, therefore improves the adaptability of the maintenance decision.The optimization for preventive maintenance (PM) task, which is a great difficulty in RCM process, is studied seriously. Three PM models, the failure rate PM model, the age reduction PM model and the hybrid PM model are investigated. Some random variables are introduced to assess the effect of PM. The optimal models for average maintenance cost per unit time are established, which can be used for scheduling the maintenance plan and providing the decision supporting for job shop scheduling. The reliability limit is introduced for hybrid PM model. The optimal PM task, which can effectively deal with the relations between maintenance cost and reliability, is obtained.The basic task and aim of CMMS is discussed. The architecture, the functional modules and the database design of CMMS are analyzed. The system design of CMMS based on RCM demands is completed.
