The campus network was developed quickly in recent years. At the same time, the campus network management has also encountered new problems: Port of campus network has been jammed; IP address is embezzled; MAC address is modified; user name and password are lost, all those cause legal network users can not land network. Aiming at these problems, the high reliability accounting system of campus network based on IEEE 802.1x protocol is researched and developed.By the comparative analysis and research of the frontier techniques on the authentication and accounting system of campus network, IEEE802.1x protocol system structure has been introduced. In addition, these parts have been analyzed in detail: the operating principle and accounting mechanism of the protocol port domination principle and the key technologies of accounting system realization (such as RADIUS accounting technology, EAP protocol, MD5 algorithm etc). Based on design and realization of RADIUS, accounting management system has been designed. This system provides the safe and reliable management and maintenance platform for campus network operation due to its perfect performance, friendly interface and easily usage. This system consists of user management and counting management.The system is make up of user management and accounting management systems. User management can realize these functions, such as opening an account, the sequestration of consumer, query and modification of the consumer data, query of the user and fee paying record and bill.The accounting management can the fee to the consumer, to payment in advance pays rate of flow consumer functions such as charge value, deriving a bill in advance. The plan fee manages the strong point not only, being able to use month counting that system provides directly, reckoning by time, plans such as plan rate of flow, real time button fee wastes a prototype, the network administrator can waste tactics from the definition meter at the same time. For interposes the preferential time interval, which service charge for, which serve free of charge, may adopt the different plan to waste tactics and the price standard to different consumer. According to different accounting tactics and discount tactics, consumer is able to select personalized service arbitrarily and pay according to the serve condition using. So that the system have realized size the fee managing for consumers, guarantying forcefully account accuracy of system.
