The steel output of our country has been continuously long and steady to hold world front row. An important technical goal of steel profession is changing from large country with steel production to the powerful nation with steel technical as soon as possible. Around this goal, it becomes the research direction of rolls automation experiment and rolling technical of our country that developing the new technology, new theoretical, new skill of rolling procedure, corresponding control means and automation system, promoting the leap of rolling technology and the crossover of the rolling product technology content of our country.It is one of most complex control systems on present world and the most important means raising the level of product precision and performance that continuously roll course automation system. Now on world the most of large scale continuously rolling machine use computer control basically. The industrial application of modern cybernetics first also is choose in continuously roll machine. From 60 decade, North America, Europe and Japan have made plenty of research works for realization the control course of continuously rolling. These all explain the advance and importance of rolling production. But the application of modern cybernetics could not reach expected effect.The stable state of rolling is relative, but the instable state of rolling is absolute, because the rolling technology, equipment and random factors are regular change with fluctuation. These changes bring great difficulty to rolling production, and become the adjustment focus of continuously rolling machine. These changes are the important content of rolling sets and automatic control. At present, in continuously rolling production, because of the unceasing raising that asked for size precision, people ask the advance setting of rolling machine becoming more accurate and flexible. To raise the precision of calculation, especially the precision of steel rolling, it is necessary to improve the system, make it intelligent and accurately completing the advance setting. In recent years, nerve network research gets quick development, and has important influence to a lot of fields.
