The fieldbus technology has become very popular in the Automation field. Field intelligent device with digital communication capacity is the node of the fieldbus system. The goal of fieldbus is realizing automation in all lifecycle of plant by open system protocol and more information obtained from field.Configuration software is a very fundamental software and used widely in the field of industrial automation. It has been a very important product in the field of industrial automation. The configuration is a key technique in the field of automation. It is developing very fast, especially based on the FCS. Now, for the purpose of utilizing and exerting the advantage of fieldbus, many researchers are working hard on the configuration technique.FF Fieldbus and EPA Industrial Ethernet are the object in this study. This paper first raises a viewpoint that integrated system with multi-communication protocol and multi-organization struct is the development's direction; Secend, by studying on them, it achieves a conclusion that EPA system and FF system have many similarities, for example protocol model, configuration principle, topology and function block configuration methods. It's proved that developing a configurator with capacity of surporting for both FF and EPA protocol by the same users' experience is feasible.Base on the further study and analysis of key techniques of FF and EPA system, this paper designs the architecture of the configuration software of FF and EPA system with the component technology.The software is accomplished by DLL, COM, ActiveX etc techniques on the flat of VC6.0 .Until now. the EPA system which developed by us has designed a simple testing system, and It's worked well.
