A virtual enterprise is considered as an operation schema of enterprises with the strongest competition power under competitive, cooperative and dynamic market environments in the 21th century, which emphasizes to get competitive superiority through cooperation. Though there is short of conditions for our country to carry virtual enterprise into execution at present, the virtual enterprise depends on information to strengthen cooperation, and combines and utilizes existing resources to enhance competitive power without increasing devotion, which philosophy is very useful for business management for our enterprises for reference. At present, it is popular to apply agent technology to virtual enterprise research all over the world. In this thesis, the general situation and developments in the field of networked manufacturing and virtual enterprise are reviewed completely. In view of the problems and deficiencies in current research, the main research works in this paper are as follows:Firstly, a framework based on Multi-Agent System is established, which supports the whole lifecycle of virtual enterprise and information exchange, cooperation and coordination between leader enterprise and partner enterprises under distributed environment. Afterwards, the negotiation methods between multi-agent are investigated. A negotiation model for virtual enterprise is presented, which is a multi-agent multi-issue negotiation model supporting multi-stage negotiation. As an important factor for proposals, the types of agents are defined in this model. The negotiation strategy based on the type and opponent's reserved value is presented. Finally, partner selection is taken as an example to compare the negotiation strategy based on the type and opponent's reserved value with the others through simulation experiments. The results show that the proposals based on the type and opponent's reserved value can avoid blindness, and become more effective under an incomplete information constraint. The negotiation model will reduce the time and improve the efficiency of negotiation, so the appropriate partners can be selected in a short time,the demand of agility is satisfied for virtual enterprise.
