Research On The Application Of Data Warehouse And OLAP In Product After-sale-Analysis System

With the rapid development of information technology, today's commerce becomes more and more competitive. Information in the business environment becomes more and more intensive, which requires companies to make best use of the data gathered in their business to improve their decisions and thereby improve the competitive ability of themselves. Traditional operational management information system, such as ERP, which creates a large amount of traction data, but can't get useful information from it, can no longer meet the needs of companies. The concept of data warehousing (DW) and online analytical processing (OLAP) are widely recognized by companies. OLAP application system is based on the process of retrieving information from large amount of data, converting the information into knowledge, which is useful for companies in terms of timely, effective and efficient decision making, and improves the competition of companies ultimately.This thesis researches the application of OLAP technology in Product after-sale-Analysis System accourding to the factual requirement of American XX Co., Ltd. In the thesis, the author does some research on the concepts, technology and implementation methodology of DW and OLAP; based on the requirements analysises of OLAP application in the system and the present information conditions of American XX Co., Ltd, the thesis gets two topic oriented product quantity assurance and sales information; then does the primary work such as OLAP solution design, query method analysis and storage tools choice; develops a windows console application to load data from files to database; in allusion to the factual requirement in xx Co., Ltd. constructs special Data House for OLAP; designs the architecture and functions of the Product After-Analysis System,and finally completes OLAP based products after-sale-Analysis system.The thesis solves the key problem that how OLAP processes the varied requirement in product after-sale-analysis system for xx Co., Ltd. During the development process, an universal 5-layer architecture for OLAP application system is concluded. Moreover, the author applies Ajax technology to achieve performance optimization. Finally the author introduces the circulation environment and permanence effort of OLAP Based Product after-sale-Analysis System used in QA/QC department in XX Co., Ltd.
