Machine vision is one type of technology and science that imitate human vision by computer.Its goal is to recover the real world by analyzing captured picture, then to cognize real world.Machine vision technology is a quite novel research field that develops very fast.It has much virtue such as non-contact, rapid, suitable precision and strong scene anti-jamming.Thus, it has showed wide applied foreground.At present,machine vision has already been applied to industrial measuring, medical science, remote sensing image processing, distinguishing, monitoring system,etc.We can say "where need man vision, where need machine vision".The most important and absorbing is it is more useful in many occasions that man can not apperceive, for example, exact and quantificational sense, danger scene sense, and so on.The development of Machine Vision will impel the aptitude systems; broaden the research and application domain in which computer and all kinds of machine intelligence are used.This paper combines machine vision with image processing technology and makes some beneficial try in researching on 3D machine vision system based on laser scanning.Taking the computer,the laser line scanning apparatus and the gytation worktable as the main equipments,it builds the 3D machine vision system.And it tells the calibration model of the system and the method of how to work out the parameter.It studies deeply on data processing, surface reconstruction and the third dimension figure display based on OpenGL.The central contents of the paper are as follows:1.It expounds the research background and significance of the 3D machine vision system,introduces the applied status of machine vision technology and summarizes the research aim and central task of the paper.2.It establishes 3D machine vision system based on laser scanning.Based on the presentation of the system's basic equipments,work principle and technical parameters,the equipment control and data collection are detailedly introduced and programmed. 3.By using Euler angle,it tells the calibration model of the 3D machine vision system and the method of how to work out the parameter.And the calibration model is tested through the calibration experiment.4.It mostly discusses the data processing in 3D machine vision system, especially the data processing technology and algorithm involved in the paper such as data-noises deleting,data filtering, data condensing, edge-detection,data smoothing and so on, which unites the researched example to compare and analyses.And it gives some simple and useful method of data processing—distance noise-deleting,multi-filtering,multi-condensing and tests them by program.5.It studies laser scanning to get the number to reconstruct the surface by triangle devide.It tells the particular steps and program of the surface reconstruction by OpenGL.And finally it makes the third dimension 3D machine vision figure.6.the whole research is summarized and future research prospects are advanced.
