Design And Implementation Of Map Generalization System Framework

With the rapid development of the computer technology and Geographic information systems (GIS), a lot of maps were made by computer and the city geography information system is under building. Now, there is a new problem which call cartographic generalization waits us to resolve.In this paper, I will implement a generalization system which will cut 80 percents work of generalization by hand.Firstly, paper introduce the background of generalization, then list the basic task in generalization. After these, paper will tell you what I have done to implement the system.At last, paper discuss the work we need to do in the future.
