A Research On Design And Mark In Map Symbol In The Environmental Modeling Of Space

The Map Symbol Base System is not only one of the basic functions of Geographic Information System, but also an important research issue in GIS. A deep analysis and design have been done on the structure of map symbol, the method of symbol marking and GIS Data Translation. It has been proved by means of experiments.First of all, this paper adopts the Object-Oriented method to design the structure of map symbol which assure its currency based on the theory of map symbol and the researching actuality by analyzing the structural reference of map symbol in GIS software.By Summarized the characteristics and designed principia of map symbol base, this paper adopts the Object-Oriented storing method to realize the integration of both spatial data and attribute data of map symbol.On the other hand, on the base of analyzing the tech and method of the map symbol marking at present, this paper proposes a general symbol mark method which based on windows of GIS components and then put it respectively to practice with MapX component and MapObjects component. Finally it comes true the share of map symbol, and it has been proved to be valid and feasible by means of experiments.In the meantime, after analyzing and studying map formats of electronic chart IHO S-57 and MapInfo, this paper solves the problem that IHO S-57 format is converted to MapInfo format, which achieves the harmless translation from IHO S-57 format to Maplnfo format basically.
