Research And Implementation The Visible Tool Of Workflow Modeling Definition Based On XPDL

Currently, the lack of versatility, usability and flexibility is the main reason for markedly cumbering the workflow system's application to the enterprises. The workflow system has some gap in meeting users' expectations. In this dissertation, the author analyses the existing workflow systems and the workflow criterion, refers to the Workflow Management Coalition's reference model and contrives the workflow modeling definition tool which has the more functions, the more novel interfaces and the more convenient operations. The workflow modeling definition tool and the Shark workflow engine which holds the XPDL norms jointly forms a more versatile, usable and flexible workflow management system. The workflow modeling definition tool uses the XML Process Definition Language (XPDL), which is compatible with the Workflow Management Coalition's process definition standard. It parses and displays the XPDL documents more easily and the model package is allowed to be modified at any moment. With the increasing needs for workflow system's capability, the versatility, usability and flexibility will become one of the important factors to adopt it. This thesis presents some valuable trials for improving the versatility, usability and flexibility of the workflow system. The workflow model definition tool discussed in this dissertation has been applied in Shenyang Galaxy Auto Corporation and has received good results.
