With the development of economy, science and technology, demand for traffic is increasing. Countries all over the world are facing difficulties in management of traffic information. Several years'research and practice by experts and engineers proved that ITS (Intelligent Traffic Systems) can solve these problems well, and many countries have advanced on it for management of traffic information. But traffic information systems always have the characteristic of isomerous, distributed, and dynamic, together with its huge information, variety of content, and the difficulty for treatment. This leads that the actual technology can't satisfy Intelligent Traffic Systems'requirements in information share and cooperation, and it become the bottleneck blocking Intelligent Traffic Systems to progress. The naissance of Grid technology put the axe in the helve. Grid technology's prima aim is eliminating the acnode of resources, actualizing high level share and taking full advantage of resource on internet. And this matches the characteristic of traffic information system very much, so the concept of traffic information grid is proposed. Traffic information grid intends to resolve problems in traffic information system by grid technology. After analyzing and researching the architecture of traffic information grid and the needs of traffic information systems, the Traffic Information Intelligent Processing Platform based on the Grid is designed with OGSA (Open Grid Services Architecture). And then the platform has been realized by Globus Toolkit 3. The function of this platform is gathering dynamic or static traffic information distributed, dealing with these information together, then issue them to others, and the traffic information can be queried if needed at the same time.
