Business Intelligence And Data Warehouse Application In Health Insurance

The paper illustrates the study and application of business intelligence and data warehouse in insurance industry. Besides the basic introduction of business intelligence, data warehouse and OLAP, the paper provides an overview of the key process in business intelligence development, including the open source technology like Kettle, Mondrian and MDX. Moreover, within the ad hoc health insurance business logic, the paper discuss the problems and corresponding solutions of design and developing of construction of data warehouse and Mondrian schema based upon the point of view of system analysis, subject orientation and data acquirement. Then, try to find out some interesting patterns for business intelligence using the integrated data from data warehouse, which might be benefit for decision making of the insurance company in the future. Thus, the paper might help Chinese middle and small business enterprises find a new high profit and low expense way to reach the goal of business intelligence. In addition, the paper also makes detail comments on some problems and solution during the project at the end of the paper.
