Resource management is the foundation and core of grid and its goal is to discover, locate, organize and monitor the distributed grid resource. However, the dynamic, heterogeneity and complexity of grid resource present a challenge to grid resource management. This paper researches the resource management system in grid computing environment emphatically. Aiming at the limitations of current resource management models, a more flexible and more universal one, which syncretizes Web computing and P2P computing, is proposed. In this model, the whole grid computing environment is divided into administrative domains, different management policies and architectures can be adopted in different administrative domains internally to meet adaptability requirement for legacy systems; P2P mode is used to organize various administrative domains to meet dynamicity and scalability. Web services are introduced in the model to provide standard interoperability to overcome resource heterogeneity. Besides, resource discovery mechanism based on P2P technology in the model mentioned above is studied and discussed concretely.
