In the virtual manufacturing system, the error detection and analysis of product manufacturability are of great importance. Its significance is the fact that it can give the forecast of probable problems that arising from the process of CAD designing and manufacturing through the simulation of manufacture process, thus providing basis for the designer to improve the design. Besides, it also helps to resolve the problems in design period, thus enhancing the quality and reducing the cost of product.This paper is based on the project named PCB Components Mount Simulation and Manufacturability Analysis. It mainly studies the error detection module. It puts forward the structure of the error detection module and defines the function of each part in this module. It summarizes the problems that may arise from the design and manufacturing process. According to the cause of each problem, this paper divides these problems into two classes which are physical parameter errors and manufacturing errors. It presents an approach to each problem according to the four kinds of errors of the components that have electronic nature. At last, this paper studies the comparison algorithm while realizing it in software and presents an algorithm of high efficiency, thus greatly improving the executed efficiency.This paper completes the implement of error detection module of the system. The checking model and comparison algorithm based on region division are of high efficiency. The implement of error detection of EDA data strengthens the practicality of virtual manufacturing system and also establishes a solid foundation for building a practical and integrated virtual manufacturing system of electronic products.Though this paper refers to only a portion of the whole project, it is one of the most important parts. For limitation of time, some more work still need to do to perfect the system. For example, the further research of improving the efficiency of the error detection algorithm. All of which will be completed in the future research.
