Design parameters of EDA are the data sources of PCB simulation and error detection in virtual manufacturing of PCB, and the rules of PCB production, which are the theoretical basis of system error detection, are used to analyze the PCB data and thus realize the error detection function of PCB design. Simulation and error detection of PCB design is still on the initial stage currently, including the use of error detection rules, as well as the management of the design parameters are issues requiring urgent solution.Based on the analysis of the simulation and error detection, some key technology is studied in the paper. A kind of data interface used in PCB simulation is designed to obtain the PCB design data. The data structure of VeriBest documents is analyzed and the corresponding transformation to data interface is implemented. In order to resolve the difficulties in querying the design parameters of PCB and processing the large number of parameters, a self-adapting database of cell parameter is implemented in the paper. Finally, a PCB detection method based on the knowledge-base is proposed to resolve the lack flexibility and extension.Actual operation results show that the extensibility of the system is improved by the design of the data interface of PCB simulation. The traditional parameter storage and management is broken through by using the self-adapting database of cell parameter, and the efficiency of query is increased and the complexity of parameter management is decreased. On the other hand, the method of PCB error-detection based on knowledge-base is studied to increase the flexibility of error-detection and realize the automation of rule matching.The processing method of the design documents introduced in the paper is merely applied in some common EDA tools. Due to the diversity of EDA tools, more kinds of design documents should be included in the future. Furthermore, the quantization of some complex rules in the PCB error detection based on knowledge-base will become an important research direction.
